Opportunities

• Postdoctoral fellow: We would be happy to host a postdoc through N-PDF (ANRF) or WISE-PDF (DST). Interested candidates are encouraged to contact me with CV. Below you will find our research interest.
• PhD position: We are looking for motivated PhD students having good academic records throughout with some previous project experience in the following research areas:

1. sample synthesis both polycrystals/ single crystals and characterizations (XRD, magnetization, resistivity, heat capacity, UV-Vis spectroscopy, etc.)
2. Raman spectroscopy
3. frustrated quantum magnets, Mott metal-insulator transition, phase transition (classical and quantum), critical phenomna, skyrmion, superconductivity, and magnetism
4. measurements at very low temperatures, high magnetic fields and high pressures
5. instrumentation
6. Theoretical modelling: First-principles density functional theory (DFT) for electronic band structure calculations

NB: PhD candidates should have an M.Sc. degree in Physics with valid GATE/ CSIR-NET/ JEST/ similar independent fellowships. Applications can be considered through the institute advertisement, generally March and October every year.
